Backyard Bees and Butterflies was born from the idea of two young girls with a penchant for and an endless curiosity about all things in nature.  At 6 and 4 years old, Elizabeth and Emely have spent countless hours learning and experiencing the world around them.  

From nature walks to horticultural center visits to agricultural learning experiences, they have gained an impressive body of knowledge and unique perspective for nature.  Upon hearing the news of several species of Bee being added to the endangered list and the plight of the Monarch Butterfly, the girls questioned why the community around them wasn’t doing more to save the pollinators that are so essential in our lives.
